Toronto Tourism

Objective: Creating high end networking receptions and dinners in unique memorable locations to promote the unique benefits for business travel to Toronto was the top priority for the authority. We were retained by Tourism Toronto to manage each aspect of the events with close attention paid to unique venue selections, the ability to infuse a taste of Toronto into the menu and incorporate the spirit, energy and artwork of Toronto.

Background: Our client, the Toronto Tourism Convention and Visitor’s Authority is tasked with the responsibility of driving tourism dollars in the form of corporate and leisure travel as well as meetings and conventions. To improve their overall awareness, the authority chose to market in vital feeder cities for tourism, via intimate cocktail receptions and dinners.

Creative Solutions: Methods used to create our objects were generated specifically to promote networking and a comfortable environment for communication. During the pre-dinner cocktail reception, Toronto Tourism representatives were on hand to make introductions with attendees and engage in light conversation. Toronto artisans were flown in to help promote the city they call home. Throughout the evening, each artisan took turns speaking to the attendees in a very informal setting. It was during this time they had the opportunity to explain what Toronto has to offer both on and off the beaten path. Looking through the lens of their cameras provided the attendees with a sense of reality and the true loyalty each artisan held for their city.

The convention authority also brought in some of the most powerful players in their market to meet one on one with the attendees and personally invite them to visit Toronto. Images of their flagship hotel properties, convention center, restaurants and museums all provided even more of an education experience for everyone.

At the completion of each dinner course, attendees moved from their seats to find new photography adoring the sheer lined walls. Returning for the next course, guests were intrigued to find someone new sitting beside them. During the intermission, we chose several people to swap seats and begin new conversations not soon to be forgotten.

As the ice wine was served and the evening came to an end, the friendly chatter from new and old acquaintances alike flowed into the night but only after receiving a token of appreciation. In an effort to pay tribute to the city’s most famous architect, each attendee received a gift of a Frank Gehry necklace for the ladies and of course, matching cuff links for the gentleman.

An evening filled with class, charm and sophistication provided the most perfect opportunity for everyone to tell their story.
